Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to help students become strong readers in local schools. You’ll be trained to deliver proven activities and coached every step of the way. Each school day you’ll tutor pairs of students for 20 minutes, follow a schedule, and track progress with your onsite coach.

The program runs Aug 2026–June 2027, with 35 hours/week, Monday–Friday, no weekends. AmeriCorps members receive a biweekly stipend of $18.89/hour, health insurance, child care assistance,

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and adjust based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule.
• Track student progress with the onsite coach.
• Enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
