Job summary

Ampact’s Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to support students at local schools in Minnesota. You’ll deliver proven reading activities, coach students daily, and track progress with an on-site coach. The role emphasizes growth, coaching, and community impact.

Full-time and part-time positions are available for the 2026-27 school year, with daytime hours and a focus on regular, school-day tutoring. Training and support are provided through the AmeriCorps Reading Corps program.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
