Job summary

A Reading Tutor with Reading Corps at Ampact will work in local Minnesota schools to help students become stronger readers. You’ll receive training and coaching as you deliver 20 minutes of focused reading practice to pairs of students each school day.

Expect daily scheduling, progress tracking with an on-site coach, and ongoing growth opportunities through coaching and training. AmeriCorps provides a stipend paid biweekly, with full-time and part-time options available for the 2026-27 year.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
