Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps seeks a Reading Tutor to help local students become strong readers in a Minnesota school. You will deliver proven activities, coach students, and work with an onsite coach, guiding 20-minute sessions with pairs of students each day.

The schedule runs October 2026 through June 2027, with 35 hours per week (20 hours for part-time options). AmeriCorps stipends, health insurance, and education benefits support your service.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• Basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• 18+ with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your tutoring experience with the community.
