Job summary

Reading Corps, powered by Ampact, is seeking Reading Tutors in Minnesota to work with students at local schools, delivering proven reading activities and coaching each day. You will tutor with pairs of students for 20 minutes, following a set schedule and collaborating with an onsite coach.

This AmeriCorps opportunity offers a biweekly stipend and benefits, including health insurance and education assistance, with growth through coaching and training for the 2026–27 school year.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
