Job summary

Ampact, via Reading Corps, is seeking Reading Tutors to help students become strong readers in Minnesota schools. Train and coach you while you deliver 20-minute daily tutoring, helping students progress and building confidence.

Part-time or full-time AmeriCorps roles include a stipend, health insurance options, and education benefits. Positions run for the 2026-27 school year with weekday daytime hours, ongoing coaching, and opportunities to serve the community.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and use feedback for improvement.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English speaking, reading and writing.
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a school schedule.
• Track student progress and meet with the onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share experience with the community.
