Job summary

Ampact in Minnesota is seeking Reading Tutors for the Reading Corps program to support students in local schools. You will lead 20-minute reading practice blocks, follow a set schedule, and help students build reading skills with on-site coaching and training.

Training is provided; AmeriCorps stipend and education awards apply. The 2026-27 school year runs August 2026 through June 2027, with full-time and part-time options, primarily weekday daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Fluent English for speaking, reading and writing.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software
