Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is hiring a Reading Tutor to work at a local Minnesota school, helping students build reading skills. You’ll be trained to deliver proven activities and coached every step of the way.

Each school day you’ll meet pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice, with a on-site coach to track progress. There are full-time and part-time options, and AmeriCorps stipends with education awards.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.
• Dependable with good attendance.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation).

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
