Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking a Reading Tutor to help K-12 students become stronger readers. You'll work at a local school delivering proven activities in 20-minute tutoring blocks, coaching students, and tracking progress with the onsite coach.

This AmeriCorps role offers daytime, school-hours work, a stipend of $18.89 per hour, health and child care benefits, and education assistance. Training is provided, and you’ll join a supportive team committed to student growth.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Able to follow instructions and apply feedback.
• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for support.
• Track student progress and meet with the onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experience with the community.
