Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is hiring Reading Tutors to help local students become strong readers. You’ll receive training and coaching as you deliver 20 minutes of reading practice to pairs of students each school day.

As part of AmeriCorps, full-time positions offer a biweekly stipend of $18.67/hour, with a 37.5-hour workweek and benefits such as health insurance, child care assistance, and education support.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.
• Dependable with a history of good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
