Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to help local students become strong readers. You’ll deliver proven activities in 20-minute tutoring pairs at school each day, with coaching and training to support your growth.

Earn $19.25 per hour as a full AmeriCorps member, with education benefits and child care assistance. Training, schedule alignment with school hours, and a focus on student progress are provided to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
