Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to work in local schools helping students become strong readers. You will deliver proven activities, coach students, and participate in a structured daily schedule.

This AmeriCorps role offers a stipend and benefits, with hours aligned to school days and a focus on student growth. Training and coaching ensure your professional development.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for support.
• Track student progress and meet with onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores into data software.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
