Job summary
Big Lake Schools is seeking a Reading Tutor to join Reading Corps, working at a local school to help students strengthen reading skills through short, focused sessions each day. You'll receive training, follow a set schedule, track progress with a school coach, and participate in coaching and professional development.
The program runs for the 2026-27 school year and offers a biweekly AmeriCorps stipend and education awards.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to follow instructions and apply feedback to improve performance.
- Basic computer skills including email and online navigation.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide student support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with on-site coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software.
- Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
- Share experience with the community.
