Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking a Reading Tutor to help students in grades through daily 20-minute reading sessions at local schools. You’ll be trained to deliver proven activities and coached along the way.

The role offers on-site hours during the school year with a focus on student growth and community impact. During the 2026-27 school year, expect full- or part-time scheduling with weekday daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
