Job summary

Reading Corps in Stockton, CA, is seeking Reading Tutors to visit local schools and provide 20 minutes of reading practice to pairs of students each day. You’ll be trained and coached throughout your service, with sessions scheduled to align with school times.

40 hours? No—we offer part‑time and full‑time options during the 2026-27 school year. You’ll track progress, use data software, and grow through ongoing coaching and support.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ with a HS diploma or equivalent; U.S. citizen or eligible residency.
• Able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for each student pair.
• Track student progress and coordinate with on-site coach.
• Enter scores in data software and monitor progress.
• Engage in coaching and training for personal growth.
• Share experiences with the community.
