Job summary

Reading Corps, powered by Ampact, is seeking a Reading Tutor to work at a local school in Stockton, CA. You will supervise pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice each session and help them progress with proven activities and coaching. We provide training and support for growth.

Schedule is Monday through Friday during school hours; part-time options exist. AmeriCorps stipends and education awards are offered, with opportunities to learn and develop through coaching.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading and writing.
• Must be dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and apply feedback to improve.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (email and online navigation).

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for student support.
• Track student progress and meet with on-site coach regularly.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter scores in data software.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experience with the community.
