Job summary
Reading Corps, administered by Ampact, seeks Reading Tutors to empower students as strong readers in local schools. You will deliver 20-minute daily reading practice with cohorts, track progress with an on-site coach, and participate in ongoing coaching and training.
Positions available for 2026-27, with full-time or part-time hours; AmeriCorps stipend and education awards offered, along with a supportive community and opportunities to impact thousands of students.
Qualifications
- Be dependable with good attendance.
- Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (email and navigating online).
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- 18+ with HS diploma or equivalent.
- US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
- Enter student scores in data software and monitor progress.
- Commit to growth through coaching and training.
- Share your experience with the community.
