Job summary

Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors in Minnesota to help students become strong readers. You’ll receive training and coaching throughout the program year, delivering proven activities in school settings.

Typical day includes pairing students for 20 minutes of reading practice, then moving on to the next pair. The program runs August 2026–June 2027 with 35 hours/week for full-time roles and 20 hours/week for part-time roles.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• Able to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
• Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
