Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to lead small groups of students in reading and/or math who are lagging behind peers by two or more years. This grant-funded role emphasizes Direct Instruction, universal screening, progress monitoring, and intensive intervention to close gaps within a school year.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and teaching certification, with preferred K‑12 classroom experience and strong classroom management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
• K-12 teaching experience preferred, with ability to work with diverse learners.
• State teaching certification preferred but not required.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach small groups (3rd‑8th grade) at risk students in reading and/or math.
• Deliver district approved intervention using research‑based methods.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate support.
• Implement standards and curricula; deliver grade‑level content.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Administer formal and informal assessments and track progress.
• Communicate student progress weekly to families.
