Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Interventionist Teacher to conduct CSI small groups for students lagging in reading and/or math, partnering with general education teachers to coordinate support. You will implement state standards, monitor progress, and adapt lessons weekly to meet ambitious outcomes.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required.
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
• Licenses or Certifications: Holding or willing to pursue a Florida educator certification required.

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI small groups consisting of students at risk in reading and/or math.
• Work with general education teachers to coordinate support for intervention.
• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Learn, master and deliver relevant content and grade level curriculum, core objectives and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track progress and adjust plans weekly.
• Communicate students' progress with students and family on a weekly basis.
• Use technology to communicate and educate and manage tasks.
• Establish a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Contribute to a school-wide culture fostering a productive learning environment.
• Build relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in meetings and duties.
• Engage in ongoing district, school and personal development; minimum 40+ hours at school weekly.
• Additional responsibilities may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school.
