Luma Education Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a small specialist classroom within a primary school.
The classroom currently has around 12 pupils, with plans for a further 3–4 children to join the provision from Early Years. The successful HLTA will play an important role in supporting the classroom team as the provision grows.
This position would suit an experienced HLTA or Senior Teaching Assistant who is confident taking responsibility for learning activities and supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.
Working hours are 8:00am – 3:30pm.
Lead and support learning activities for individuals, small groups and whole-class sessions where appropriate.
Work closely with the class teacher to support effective teaching and learning.
Provide targeted support to pupils with additional educational needs.
Adapt activities and resources to accommodate different abilities and learning styles.
Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development.
Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of classroom activities.
Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Support the organisation and day-to-day running of the specialist classroom.
Help new pupils transition into the classroom as the provision expands.
Provide guidance and support to other Teaching Assistants where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
