Job summary

Helm Academy is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with diverse learning needs in a trauma-informed environment. You will assist classroom teachers, deliver one-on-one or small-group support, and help implement IEPs to maximise progress.

We value excellent communication, teamwork and a collaborative approach. A minimum GCSE grade C or 5 in English and Maths is required, and previous SEN experience is preferred to help children access the curriculum effectively.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a teaching assistant role, preferably in a SEN setting.
  • Understanding of special educational needs and effective strategies for supporting diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of students with SEN.

Salary: £12.50 per hour OR £18,000 - £22,000 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
