Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center is seeking a certified ultrasound technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound examinations in a clinical setting. You will explain the procedure to patients, position them appropriately, and operate imaging equipment according to protocols and physician orders.

Requirements include RDMS certification with ARDMS, one specialty ARDMS certification (AB/OB/GYN/PS/RVT/Breast/MSK), and CPR within 30 days of hire, plus at least one year of sonographer experience.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification through ARDMS.
• One ARDMS specialty certification (AB, OB/GYN, PS, RVT, Breast, MSK).
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of sonographer experience.

Responsibilities

• Explains the test to the patient and assists in positioning.
• Maintains work area and ensures equipment safety.
• Produces high quality ultrasound scans according to protocols and physician orders.
• Selects transducer and adjusts equipment to optimize image quality.
• Assists Radiologists with patient procedures.
• Maintains records and prepares charge vouchers as required.
• Develops films and matches with patient requests.
• Keeps CME points updated for ARDMS.
• Participates in in-service education and cross-training of technologists.
• Complies with hospital policies.
