Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center is seeking an experienced sonographer to perform ultrasound exams including color Doppler vascular, abdominal, OB/GYN and small parts. The role requires patient preparation, image optimization, and coordination with radiologists.

Qualified candidates hold RDMS ARDMS certification with a specialty in AB/OB-GYN/PS/RVT/Breast/MSK and CPR within 30 days of hire. The position is 40 hours weekly in a hospital setting with day shifts.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification through ARDMS is required.
• One ARDMS specialty certification: AB, OB/GYN, PS, RVT, Breast or MSK.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Explain the test to the patient and assist with positioning.
• Maintain work area and ensure equipment safety and safety checks.
• Produce high quality ultrasound scans per protocols and orders.
• Adjust transducer and controls to optimize images.
• Assist Radiologists with procedures and document results.
• Send completed images to PACS and manage records as required.
• Keep CME credits updated and participate in in-service education.
• Provide cross-training support and comply with policies.
