Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV seeks an sonographer to perform ultrasound exams including abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular studies. The role requires RDMS with ARDMS specialty certifications (AB/OB-GYN/PS/RVT/Breast/MSK) and CPR within 30 days of hire, plus 1 year of sonographer experience.

You will operate ultrasound equipment, guide patients, and assist Radiologists while ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation in RMS/SMS systems.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification through ARDMS is required.
• One ARDMS specialty certification (AB/OB-GYN/PS/RVT/Breast/MSK) is required.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Explain the test to the patient and assist in positioning.
• Maintain area and equipment; ensure safety checks.
• Produce high-quality ultrasound scans per protocol and orders.
• Adjust transducer and controls for target organ and depth.
• Assist Radiologists and maintain patient records in RMS/SMS.
• Develop films and ensure correct matching with requests.
• Participate in department in-service education and cross training.
