Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV, seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular ultrasound exams with attention to quality and safety. The role includes patient instruction, image optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position requires ARDMS RDMS certification and at least one specialty (AB/OB‑GYN/PS/RVT/Breast/MSK), CPR within 30 days, and a minimum of one year of experience.

Qualifications

• RDMS certification required.
• One ARDMS specialty: abdomen (AB), OB/GYN, PS, RVT, or breast.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of sonographer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explains the test to the patient and assists in positioning.
• Produces high quality ultrasound scans according to protocols and orders.
• Assists Radiologists with patient procedures.
• Maintains equipment and follows OSH standards; reports issues.
• Sends completed images to PACS and maintains records.
• Maintains CME points for ARDMS and participates in in‑service education.
• Cross‑train technologists and ensure compliance with department policies.
