Job summary

Gateway Dental Group and Orthodontics in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support dentists during patient care, imaging, and chair-side procedures. You will help with x-rays, intra-oral pictures, and treatment preparation while maintaining a clean, compliant operatory.

The role emphasizes patient communication, infection control, and adherence to state and federal safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED and mandated state certification/licensure requirements.
• Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by applicable state.
• Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for best possible treatment with urgency.
• Actively participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment and prepare patients for treatment; assist doctors.
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories per ADA guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc.).
