Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Rapid Response Team (RRT) Registered Nurse to coordinate Code Blue and rapid response assessments. You will respond to alerts, prioritize care, and perform advanced nursing interventions to optimize outcomes, including ultrasound, ABG testing, and IO device insertion.

The role requires a CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, CCRN/TCRN preferred, and 5+ years in ICU/ED with strong communication and leadership abilities. You will work with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Current CA RN license and active registration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• CCRN or TCRN upon hire and maintain.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or higher.
• Minimum five years' ICU or ED nursing experience.
• Minimum two years in an acute care setting.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Code Blue and Rapid Response Team assessments.
• Respond to rapid response and Code Stroke calls.
• Provide critical nursing care for deteriorating patients, including POC ultrasound, iSTAT, ABG, IO placement.
• Serve as clinical resource for physicians and staff; participate in rounding and surveillance.
