Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Rapid Response Team (RRT) Registered Nurse to coordinate Code Blue and RRT assessments, ensuring timely prioritization and escalation of care. The role supports physicians and staff with advanced nursing interventions and clinical decision making.

The position requires a CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, and a BSN or higher, with 5+ years in ICU/ED and 2+ years acute care experience. On-site work in California with flexible shifts and a strong patient-centered focus.

Qualifications

• CA RN license required and current.
• BLS and ACLS certification required and current.
• CCRN or TCRN certification preferred on hire.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or higher required.
• Minimum five years of ICU or ED nursing experience.
• Minimum two years in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Code Blue and Rapid Response Team assessments.
• Respond to rapid response alerts and prioritize patient care.
• Provide advanced nursing interventions for deterioration.
• Utilize Point of Care Ultrasounds, iSTAT labs, ABGs; insert IO devices as needed.
• Develop practice guidelines and participate in data collection and education.
