Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Rapid Response Team (RRT) Registered Nurse to coordinate Code Blue and RRT assessments and respond to Code Stroke, ensuring timely intervention and patient safety in a high-acuity environment.

You will lead nursing care for deteriorating patients, perform Point of Care Ultrasounds, iSTAT, ABGs, IO insertions, and contribute to practice guidelines, data collection, and education. Must hold CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, CCRN/TCRN preferred, with ICU/ED and acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a current CA RN license and maintain current
• Must have a current BLS and ACLS and maintain current
• CCRN or TCRN upon hire and maintain current
• All external candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or above
• Minimum five years of recent clinical nursing experience in ICU or ED
• Minimum two years of recent experience in an acute care setting

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Code Blue and Rapid Response Team assessment and prioritization
• Respond to rapid response alerts and facilitate appropriate nursing care for deterioration
• Utilize Point of Care Ultrasounds, iSTAT, ABGs, and intraosseous device insertion
• Develop practice guidelines, collect data, and educate on patient care during rapid responses
• Ensure safe, culturally sensitive care and effective communication across the health system
