Job summary

JINYA Ramen Bar in Rockville, MD is seeking a BOH team member to support Kitchen Managers and ensure high standards of ramen production. You will prepare items according to recipes, maintain safety, and help deliver an outstanding guest experience.

This hourly position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to cleanliness. You will work with servers and other cooks to maintain quality and efficiency, adhering to JINYA policies and procedures while embracing the company culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year restaurant experience with knowledge of kitchen equipment.
• Outstanding verbal and written skills; multi-tasking ability.
• Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Willing to follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
• Lead by example, motivate team and present information clearly.
• Dependable and reliable; keep restaurant clean and presentable.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to recipes and Kitchen Manager guidance.
• Adhere to kitchen safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Maintain sanitation and food handling standards.
• Follow health, safety, and company policies.
• Represent JINYA culture in interactions with guests and staff.
• Attend meetings and report to work as scheduled.
• Assist guests with menus and specials; accommodate requests.
• Communicate clearly with front/back of house teams.

• Complete projects and tasks assigned by managers.
