Job summary

Patriot Rail Company seeks a Supervisory role to oversee and coordinate train crew activities within yard operations, ensuring safe switching, loading/unloading, and makeup of trains. You will follow orders from management or customers and maintain accurate reporting and documentation.

Travel 50-75% is anticipated; required certifications include locomotive engineer and conductor credentials. Safety and regulatory compliance are essential to daily duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years prior experience in trainmen functions.
• Must hold, and continue to hold, a current locomotive engineers and conductor's certification.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply federal railroad regulations and safety rules.
• Ability to read and comprehend written safety rules, procedures and manuals.
• Ability to communicate instructions clearly in written and oral form.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of train crews.
• Receive instructions from Manager or Customer indicating which cars to switch.
• Notify Conductor of switching orders and direct car movements.
• Manage cars online through various reports.
• Ensure daily train lists and reports are accurate.
• Investigate accidents/incidents with causes and remedial actions.
• Understand track conditions and their impact on productivity.
• Other duties as assigned.
