Job summary

Patriot Rail Company seeks an experienced supervisor to assist the Roadmaster in managing crews and ensuring FRA standards across track maintenance operations. The role requires coordination with dispatch and agencies, oversight of test cars, track inspections, and accident investigations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in track operations, GCOR/FRA knowledge, and strong communication skills. Significant travel and budget planning are involved.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years' track related experience.
• FRA213 and FRA214 preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; two years related experience may substitute each year of college.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervises crews who maintain and install ties and rail and inspects repairs.
• Oversees test car operations to inspect joint bars and track geometry, detect rail flaws, and kill vegetation.
• Oversees rail grinding process.
• Ensures FRA safety standards are met and meets with FRA regularly for feedback on track conditions.
• Manages the bid process and supervises external contractors to project completion.
• Coordinates with Dispatch and state/local agencies to schedule crossing rebuilds or track shutdowns.
• Performs accident investigations to ensure a safe environment and prevent recurrence.
• Assists Roadmaster in budgeting for overtime, materials, equipment, and contractor costs.
• Participates with Transportation and Mechanical departments on safety committee.
