Job summary

Patriot Rail Company is seeking a Regional Trainmaster to lead train crew activities, oversee switching operations, and ensure safe, efficient railcar movement in a dynamic yard setting. You will provide hands-on leadership, real-time decision making, and strict adherence to safety standards.

The role emphasizes supervision, planning, and coordination with a focus on safety culture, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in operations across the yard and surrounding facilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in train operations or trainmen functions.
• Strong knowledge of federal railroad regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of train crews and coordinate switching operations.
• Direct switching to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and assembly.
• Communicate movement instructions via radio, phone, or in person.
• Ensure proper use of track switches, coupling, and uncoupling procedures.
• Recruit and develop a high-performing team aligned with Patriot Rail’s goals.
