Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals in Cincinnati is seeking a Yard Supervisor to drive safe, customer-focused industrial switching and operational execution. You will coordinate safety initiatives, workflows, and daily needs on site, mentoring staff and aligning operations with customer requirements.

Responsibilities cover safety management, process improvements, contractor supervision, and budgeting support, with emphasis on teamwork and delivering reliable service.

Qualifications

• Experience managing railway personnel in a customer-focused environment.
• Experience in managing for efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum two years in a leadership position in rail switching or industrial environment.
• One year experience working with Safety Management Systems in an industrial environment.
• One year experience developing and managing capital and operating budgets.

Responsibilities

• Perform Safety Management System activities such as Employee Efficiency Testing, Loss Prevention Observations, Incident Reporting.
• Lead safety initiatives and implement corrective actions as a result of incidents.
• Coordinate daily operations to meet customer needs and ensure safe practices.
• Mentor employees in all aspects of safe railway operations and lead by example.
• Design and improve work systems for operational effectiveness.
• Supervise contractors on site and ensure they have skills and resources to meet objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, invoicing, and key consumables tracking for sites.
