Cando Rail & Terminals is seeking Switchpersons to perform safe, efficient rail car switching in an outdoor, fast-paced environment. You will work in teams to maximize efficiency and safety while following procedures and maintaining a strong initiative and organizational skills.

The role emphasizes excellent teamwork and customer service, with a commitment to safety and a culture that values people and operations. Training and benefits are highlighted as part of the opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience as Locomotive Operator or Switchperson preferred.
• Customer-oriented experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write safety briefings, policy and switching lists.
• Physically fit to climb railcars and handle air hoses and brakes.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications and pass drug/alcohol tests.

Responsabilités

• Ensure safe operation of locomotives and train movements, incl. briefings.
• Operate switches/derails and couple/uncouple rail cars with the team.
• Provide protection of train, track, and equipment.
• Perform plant and equipment inspections, including air brake tests.
• Follow operating rules, switching procedures, and government/customer rules.
• Keep locomotive interior clean and safe.
• Complete daily inspection/testing of brakes and safety devices.
• Submit daily reports and logs as required by customer/Cando.
• Collaborate with team and deliver excellent customer service.
