Job summary

Cando Rail is seeking a Yard Supervisor in Cincinnati to lead day-to-day and shift operations, ensure safety, and deliver cost-effective industrial switching services. The role emphasizes teamwork, problem solving, and a strong safety culture across sites.

The Yard Supervisor will coordinate safety initiatives, workflow processes, people management, and daily operational needs, mentoring staff and maintaining customer-focused operations.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a fast-paced railway environment.
• Experience developing and managing budgets.
• Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and rail safety standards.
• Familiarity with GCOR and FRA requirements.
• Proven ability to train and mentor employees for safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety initiatives and daily operational needs on site.
• Lead incident response and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise contractors and ensure they have trained resources.
• Mentor employees in safe railway operations and best practices.
• Monitor policies, performance and customer service alignment.
