Job summary

Arup, a global engineering leader, seeks a Rail Track Leader to provide senior technical, project delivery, and client-facing leadership for major rail projects in the Americas. You will act as Engineer of Record for track design, oversee detailed design through construction, and mentor a growing regional track design team.

The role requires 20+ years in rail track engineering, PE licensure, and experience with design-build delivery for light rail, heavy rail, or high-speed projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline; Master’s desirable.
• Licensed Professional Engineer required; able to serve as Engineer of Record in US jurisdictions.
• Minimum 20 years of relevant rail track engineering experience, including recent detailed design delivery.
• Experience leading track design packages for major rail/transit projects, with design-build delivery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical lead and Engineer of Record for rail track design packages (alignment, trackwork, yard tracks, mainline).
• Lead detailed track design delivery from concept through final design, construction support and closeout.
• Provide direction for alignment, ballasted/direct fixation/embedded/low-vibration track and track-structure interfaces.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage subconsultant interfaces; support quality assurance and design reviews.
• Support business development, pursuits, proposals, and client engagement for major rail programs.
