Job summary

Arup is seeking an experienced Rail Track Leader to provide senior technical, project delivery, and client-facing leadership for major rail and transit projects in the Americas. The role includes acting as Engineer of Record for track design, guiding design-build delivery, and mentoring a growing track design team.

The candidate should bring 20+ years of rail track experience, licensed PE status, and proven ability to lead complex track packages across light rail, heavy rail, and intercity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with ability to serve as Engineer of Record in relevant US jurisdictions.
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant rail track engineering experience, including recent detailed design delivery.
• Demonstrated experience leading track design packages for major rail or transit projects, including final design and construction-phase support.
• Strong understanding of applicable rail and transit standards, codes, design criteria, and agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical lead and Engineer of Record for rail track design packages, including alignment and trackwork.
• Lead detailed track design delivery from concept through final design and construction support.
• Provide technical direction for alignment, track types, and track/structure interfaces.
• Oversee preparation, review, and certification of drawings, specs, and design reports.
• Provide senior leadership for track scope on design-build projects and coordinate with contractors and subconsultants.
• Manage interdisciplinary interfaces with civil, structures, systems, drainage, facilities, and utilities.
