Job summary

BNSF is seeking a Conductor Trainee in Houston to support safe movement of freight and learn train operations. You will participate in on-the-job and classroom training at the company’s pace, with relocation not offered and a 60-day probationary period.

The role requires full-time availability (40 hours/week) with on-call duties, travel as needed, and adherence to stringent safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to work shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Willing to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate information via devices and monitor daily work.
• Operate track switches and derails to route trains and ensure proper alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Work in a safety sensitive environment under extreme weather conditions.
