Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor Trainee in Longview, TX, with on-call, night, weekend shifts and a travel-ready schedule. Training includes up to 19 weeks of company-paid on‑the‑job and classroom instruction, with travel to Overland Park, KS. Anticipated start date 03/01/2027.

Relocation not included and a 60‑day probation applies. You will learn to manage train operations, perform switching, inspections, and signal interpretation while maintaining safety and adherence to federal/state

Qualifications

• Must be able to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work in safety-sensitive environments and adhere to safety policies.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information via oral and written communications.
• Operate track switches and derails to route trains.
• Inspect trains and equipment and report conditions per regulations.
• Monitor safety conditions and ensure compliance with protocols in varied weather.
