Job summary

BNSF Railway is offering a full-time Conductor Trainee position in the United States. Trainees will learn to manage train operations, ensure safety protocols, and support the movement of freight across a large network.

This role requires willingness to travel and work on-call schedules, including nights and weekends, with on-the-job and classroom training in Overland Park, KS. Relocation not available; a 60-day probationary period applies.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, receive, and act on information (oral and written) and monitor daily work.
• Operate track switches and derails to change train routing and ensure proper alignment.
• Inspect trains and equipment per federal regulations, report conditions.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment under diverse weather and loud machinery.
• Travel as required, including stay in seniority region for extended periods.
