Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. You will receive classroom and hands-on training and work outdoors in all weather conditions, with opportunities for growth within the organization.

This full-time position requires passing pre-employment checks, working a varied 24/7 schedule, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Competitive benefits and paid training are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years of related work experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of railroad safety regulations and standards.
• Ability to follow strict safety procedures in a safety-sensitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with federal, state, and railroad safety regulations.
• Coordinate train or railcar movement with team via signals or radio.
• Operate track switches to determine train routes and movement.
• Inspect trains and equipment for safety compliance during movement and at rest.
• Assist with or perform duties as assigned by supervisors.
