Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. You will receive classroom and hands-on training to establish a strong foundation for a long-term career.

You will work outdoors in all weather, meet regulatory safety standards, and communicate with the team using signals, lanterns, or radio to coordinate movements. The role requires physical capability and a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and 18+ years old.
• Pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Move freight safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Receive classroom and hands-on training for long-term career development.
• Communicate with team using signals and radio to coordinate train movement.
• Operate track switches to determine train/railcar routes.
• Inspect train and equipment for safety during movement and at stops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
