Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. seeks a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. Training will be provided both in the classroom and on the job to establish a solid career foundation.

You will work outdoors in all weather, facing daily challenges while ensuring customer needs are met, in a physically active role with growth opportunities. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum age 18

Responsibilities

• Comply with all railroad safety and operational regulations
• Follow instructions when working with a trainer or supervisor
• Coordinate train or railcar movement using signals or radio
• Operate track switches to determine train/railcar routes
• Evaluate, plan, and complete work safely and efficiently
• Climb on/off equipment and walk the length of the train/yard
• Read and understand rule books and printed material
• Inspect train and equipment for safety
• Connect air hoses and electrical components
• Utilize basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned
