Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. in the United States is seeking a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. Training will be provided through classroom and hands-on instruction.

You’ll work outdoors in all weather, facing new challenges daily while meeting customer needs. This is a physically active role with growth potential in a dynamic railroad environment. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related or relevant work experience is a plus.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience working in a safety-sensitive environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with railroad safety and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate train or railcar movement via signals or radio instructions.
• Operate track switches to determine train routes and support operations.
• Read and interpret rule books and documentation.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently and support train operations.
