Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. The role includes classroom and hands‑on training, outdoor work in all weather, and opportunities for long‑term career growth within a dynamic environment.

You will work 40+ hours weekly in a 24/7 schedule, with nights, holidays and weekend shifts. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and effective communication on rail operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Experience in a safety‑sensitive environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with railroad safety and operating regulations.
• Coordinate train movements with team members via signals and radio.
• Operate track switches to route trains and rail equipment.
• Assess work tasks for safety and efficiency, adjusting as needed.
• Inspect trains and equipment for safety during operation.
• Assist with coupling/decoupling as required and maintain documentation.
