Job summary

Genesee & Wyoming Inc. is seeking a Conductor to move freight safely and efficiently. Training will be provided with classroom and hands-on instruction. The role is outdoors in all weather, requiring physical activity, climbing, and regular 12-hour shifts. You will follow safety rules, operate switches, and coordinate with the crew to meet customer needs.

The position offers full-time hours in a 24/7 operation, with opportunities for growth within a large North American network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Comply with federal, state, and railroad safety regulations.
• Communicate with team using signals or radio to coordinate movement.
• Operate track switches and inspect train and equipment for safety.
• Read rule books and reports, document train operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
