Job summary

Yale New Haven Health in Connecticut seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of radiologic procedures at a technical level. The role rotates on-call and involves frequent contact with acutely ill patients, exposure to surgical procedures and radiation.

Requires ARRT registration and CT licensure within six months, plus BLS. Must demonstrate empathy, accuracy in documentation, and teamwork across departments to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus formal radiologic technology program.
• 2–3 months on-the-job experience from an accredited radiology program.
• Connecticut State License in Radiologic Technology or licensure within six months; BLS required.
• ARRT registration or registry eligible.

Responsibilities

• Be mentally flexible when dealing with coworkers, students, radiologists and other health care workers.
• Obtain and assess the patient’s pertinent clinical information.
• Consistently produce diagnostic quality radiographs using proper technical factors and patient positioning.
• Facilitate efficient patient flow.
• Complete patient documentation accurately and timely (exam charging, patient insurance, day log).
• Show empathy and compassion to patients at all times.
• Operate all equipment properly and safely within radiation guidelines.
• Perform venipuncture for contrast injections and monitor vital signs as needed.
• Maintain clear communication among team members and other departments to maximize patient care.
• Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self development.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
