Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist in New London, CT to perform radiologic procedures at a technical level and participate in on-call rotations. You will obtain and assess patient information, position patients for diagnostic radiographs, and maintain accurate documentation while upholding safety and radiation guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an AMA-approved radiologic technology program, and current or pending ARRT registration

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and complete an AMA-approved radiologic technology program.
• Must meet ARRT registry requirements.
• Must hold or obtain Connecticut state radiologic technology license within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Must be mentally flexible when dealing with coworkers, students, radiologists and other healthcare workers.
• Obtains and assesses a patient’s pertinent clinical information.
• Consistently produces diagnostic quality radiographs by using proper technical factors and patient positioning.
• Facilitates efficient patient flow.
• Completes accurate and timely patient documentation (exam charging, patient insurance, day log maintenance).
• Shows empathy and compassion to patients at all times.
• Operates all equipment properly and safely within radiation guidelines.
• Performs venipuncture for contrast injections and can assess vital signs as needed.
• Maintains good communication among team members and other departments to maximize patient care.
• Meets performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, and self-development.
• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department.
